I am a visual artist focused on modern batik painting. I began my artistic journey as a Fine Arts student, where my interest in painting and batik developed through academic study. My work combines traditional batik techniques with contemporary painting approaches, aiming to present batik as a modern and expressive visual art.
My work is inspired by stories from traditional wayang, which I reinterpret through modern batik painting. I use primissima cotton fabric and Remazol dyes because they allow flexibility and freedom in exploring batik techniques. Through this medium, I aim to present wayang narratives as contemporary visual expressions while preserving their cultural essence.
